PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Government of Nauru requested financial support from the ADB and the GCF to build a seaport to ensure sustainable and climate-resilient connectivity for the country. In obtaining the financing from the GCF, ADB signed a Funded Activity Agreement (FAA) and as part of the FAA an interim evaluation of the project has to be carried out.
SERVICES PROVIDED BY STRATEGY & ECONOMICS
S&E’s Managing Director carried out the project interim evaluation which entailed reviewing project progress in relation to the following criteria: i) Project relevance, effectiveness and efficiency; ii) Coherence in climate finance delivery with other multilateral entities; iii) Gender equity; iv) Country ownership of projects and programs; v) Innovativeness in results areas; vi) Replication and scalability; vii) Unexpected results (positive and negative).
